Nutrition

Students perform better academically and behaviorally when they eat a well-balanced diet.  Breakfast, lunch, and dinner; low in fats and full of fresh fruits and vegetables are a great way to help your child succeed in school.

Truman HS offers a breakfast program from 6:45 AM until 7:07 AM when students are dismissed from the cafeteria or auditorium to homerooms.

Truman School Lunches are served from 10 :02 AM until 1 :22 PM in Four (4) lunch periods of approximately 45 minutes. Students may enter three (3) hot lunch lines or one snack line. Salads are pre-packaged at the HS and available in all three hot lunch lines.

Students who wish to brown bag a lunch from home are advised that take-out from fast food establishments is not brown bagging and there is no delivery service permitted at any time from restaurants. Nutritional tips on brown bagging are available on the food service link below.

Students at the HS may also engage in study groups or research in the library during their scheduled lunch period. Visitations from military, visits to career center, guidance, prom fashion shows, and ticket sales for school events occur during lunches. Maturity and conduct of  senior high students allow certain privileges that not available in middle schools.
